Holiday season driving can be hectic, especially if you’re traveling across the country. Fortunately, sticking to a few trip tips can streamline your holiday travels. Preparing ahead of time can certainly make a difference in your journey. Check out these holiday season driving tips.
Planning your route ahead of time can help prevent you from getting lost and wasting valuable time. If you’re venturing on a family road trip, take the time to preload directions to your smart device or, if you’re feeling old school, trace the path on a map.
Make sure to take local traffic and weather forecasts into account, too. After all, no one wants to get stuck in heavy rains or deep snow during the holiday. Leaving early to avoid the holiday rush can save you time and money in fuel costs as well.
Be Proactive with Maintenance
Keeping up with routine maintenance is the best way to ensure you don’t have to deal with mechanical problems on the road. Simple maintenance items like changing the oil and rotating tires can streamline the driving experience. Make sure to have your vehicle inspected by one of the professional technicians at Ryan Chevrolet before taking long road trips.
Follow the Speed Limit
There are thousands of drivers on the road during the holiday season, so it only makes sense that police are out in great numbers. Unfortunately, this means that speed traps are more prevalent, too. Sticking to the posted speed limit will not only help you avoid tickets, but ensure you and your family’s own safety.
Mid-size trucks are slowly making their way back to the industry amid driver demand, but the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 has a major head start. The off-road model took a spot among finalists in Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year competition. Designed to tackle the great outdoors like never before, the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 raises the bar for the segment.
Tackling the toughest terrain known to man took some work, but the Chevrolet team cracked the code in the Colorado ZR2. The award-winning model features an aggressive design, suspension lift, and either a turbodiesel four cylinder or 308-horsepower V6.
“It absolutely crushed any off-road challenge,” said Mark Rechtin, Truck of the Year judge.
Judges found the responsive handling and powerful V6 engine more than enough for a thrilling ride. The turbodiesel engine raises the bar for the segment when it comes to fuel economy as well. And despite its design for tackling off-road terrain, the Colorado ZR2 easily towed 4,000 lb. during the judge’s testing.
Notably, the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 was the only mid-size truck to make it to the finals.
Here at Ryan Chevrolet, we are happy to see the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 continuing to lead the mid-size pickup segment!
The Chevrolet Truck Legends program recognizes drivers that have driven over 100,000 miles in their pickups or who have purchased or leased more than one new Chevy truck. Chevrolet brand pickups have been on the market for an entire century, making them a new standard in the industry. With incredible power, capability, and quality, it’s easy to see why Chevy trucks have lasted this long.
According to Chevrolet, the Chevy Silverado 1500 is by far the most popular truck offered by the American auto company. A majority of the members in the Chevy Truck Legends program own Silverado 1500 trucks. Launched in September 2016, the program provides many perks for its 5,400+ members. For example, some members have had a chance to score front-row seats at concerts, to see Major League Baseball games, and even to meet Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“We had an incredible response to the Truck Legends pilot program, and greatly appreciate the owners who have shared their stories,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks Marketing director. “We look forward to hearing from customers across the country, and for the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to our most loyal customers.”
The Truck Legends program is a great way to celebrate 100 years of Chevy trucks. Here at Ryan Chevrolet, we couldn’t be more thrilled to see that Chevy trucks are as popular as ever before. If you’re interested in your own Chevy pickup, give us a call or stop by Ryan Chevrolet today.
